By now, I’m sure we’re all familiar with the HHS mandate of Obamacare, which required all employers to cover contraceptives and abortifacient (abortion-inducing) drugs. Lawsuits were filed by the dozen, because this mandate is in violation of the religious liberty of employers (such as Chick-fil-A, Tyndale House Publishing, and other religiously-based companies). And Friday, Obama announced a “compromise” with his religious subjects. The so-called compromise runs as follows: “objecting non-profit” employers would offer employees an insurance plan which does not cover contraceptives, and then the insurance company would “automatically enroll employees in a separate individual policy, which only covers contraceptives, at no cost.” You see, this is no compromise.

If Obama has his way, David Green will be forced to pay for baby-killings – or pay the penalty for not complying with the liberal war machine.
First of all, the entire “non-profit” condition rules out Catholic hospitals, Chick-fil-A, Hobby Lobby, and other legitimate businesses founded and run on Christian principles. These are businesses: they have to make a profit. So by saying that only “non-profit” employers have any claim to exemption is no compromise. It’s a cop-out. It’s a liberal, anti-Christian scheme to limit, and eventually dissolve, the religious liberty of Christians. Why should Catholic hospitals have to pay for abortions simply because they make a profit at the end of the fiscal year? They shouldn’t. And no, E.J. Dionne (with the Washington Post), the Catholic Church has not won a victory.
The second problem is that even non-profit employers would still be paying for contraceptives and abortions. The employers pay the insurance company for the employee’s original plan. And then the insurance company automatically tacks on an individual plan covering contraceptives and abortions at no cost to the employee. Who do you think is going to pay for that? I mean, insurance companies are definitely not non-profit. Do you think they’ll just be charitable and give money away? Don’t be naive. The insurance company will increase employer rates. That’s the way it works. So, in the end, the employer is still going to pay for these baby-killing drugs. Kyle Duncan, general counsel for the Beckett Fund for Religious Liberty, gets it; he told Fox in a statement that the proposal ‘does nothing to protect the religious liberty of millions of Americans.’”
Do you really think that Obama and his liberal compadres care about religious liberty? Only for those who support their causes. Obama, in his entire presidency, has done nothing except work on this ridiculously illegal health care bill. You see, they only care about pleasing their voter base, which is composed of pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage, and anti-Christian voters. Now, I’m going to be very clear here. No Christian can support this health care bill. We must tell Obama and the liberal war machine that we will not pay for them to kill babies. We won’t pay any fines just because we believe that killings babies is evil.

Fully Agree
How about the religious liberties of the millions of americans who work for these corporations? Should they be forced to be denied the healthcare every other american is entitled to because of the religious beliefs of the owner? A religious belief I would wager a substantial portion of the employees and the companies customers did not know about? Shall these employers be able to deny health care because the employee ate pork or one of the many other foods prohibited by the bible?
Should these companies be allowed to discriminate against homosexuals because of their religion?
Shall corporations run by Christian Scientists be allowed to withhold ALL healthcare because it is against their beliefs? How about a corporation run by muslims, hindus, etc- shall all their employees bend to their beliefs?
Once a company steps outside the work directly related to their faith- and seeks to profit from the american populace- both consumer and employee- they give up their right to exempt themselves from the law of the land- regardless of whether its for religious, moral, or some other reason.
First, no person would “be forced to be denied” health care (if that’s what you want to call killing or preventing babies). If they want to buy baby-killing pills, the blood is on their own hands. Employers, on the other hand, should not be forced to buy those drugs for their employees. That is the issue. The remainder of you points, in that first paragraph, are simply ignorant. It does not matter if the customers or employees knew about the owner’s beliefs: he/she still has a right to religious liberty. And the employers are not “punishing” the employees – that has never been the issue. Christians do not want the government telling us that we have to pay for the killing of babies.
Second, no one said anything about discrimination against homosexuals. That has nothing to do with what we’re talking about. We are talking about a liberal government forcing Christians to pay for babies to be killed.
You’re third paragraph doesn’t make any sense. No one is saying “Hey, if you want to work for Hobby Lobby, you have to be a Christian and adhere to our religious teaching.” That has not been said: you’re just pulling something from nowhere to make your case sound more plausible. And you’re fourth point is just as nonsensical. Simply because you make money, you lose your constitutional rights? Come on, be real. These are human beings. They have the same rights you do. You “profit” from your employer (it’s called income). Does that mean that you lose your rights? Besides, this isn’t about “exempting themselves from the law.” The HHS mandate, both the original and the second version, is illegal; the Christians are the ones upholding the law.
I’m am not trying to be insulting. But this issue, more than any other, kindles my zeal for truth and justice. I abhor abortion and I will truthfully speak out about both the killing of babies and the evil men and women who propagate it. Part of my passion comes from love: people who support killing babies will be judged by God, and they desperately need to repent from their wicked ways. But an equal part comes from justice. I long to see God take vengeance on those who allowed millions of babies to be slaughtered.
